Row Republic is Boston’s first premier indoor rowing studio. Located in the North End, we provide our clients with a unique 50-minute full body workout within a luxurious and hospitable environment. Our fast-paced class brings you through a bootcamp style, interval workout between our Technogym Skillrow’s and our Fitbench strength station’s, to achieve maximum caloric burn and muscle growth. We offer our community an escape to the everyday hustle to strengthen and improve the mind and body to confidently conquer whatever challenges lie ahead.
Yes. Our class is designed to provide a world class workout to people who have never rowed before. Before your first class you will take “First Timer’s Orientation”, a 15minute introduction to proper rowing form, our equipment and our class dynamic.
Go at your own pace and make sure you have fun. Our team will help you every step of the way.
Yes. Our class is designed for all fitness levels. You (especially during your first class) are encouraged to go at your own comfort level. Our staff will never push you to a level you are uncomfortable with. This is your class, you decide how hard you want to go!
No we do not. We create an environment that works for clients of all fitness levels. We assume 90% of our clients have never rowed (or learned to row properly) before so we require all new clients to attend “learn to row” before their first class.
It depends on your personal goals. If you are looking for maximum results we recommend 3-4 times a week. If you are looking to integrate rowing in your current workout routine 1-3 times a week will have a significant effect on your fitness.
That depends on a lot of factors. Everyone is different. We have seen clients burn from 700 to 1,300 calories depending on weight, body composition, and workout level. Row Republic also has an intense afterburn effect meaning your body will continue to have an increase calorie burn up to 36 hours after class.

We combine weight training with rowing cardio to maintain an elevated heart-rate throughout the workout. Weightlifting with high intensity intervals of rowing will maximize caloric burn and increase clients lean muscle mass.
No! Each day has a different muscle group and each trainer will set the interval length to the workout they create that day. You can expect rowing, weight training and amazing music every class but with changes that keep it fresh every time you come!
We open reservations 7 days prior to class. This allows you to book out your week in advance.
You can cancel a class online or by calling the studio without penalty up to 12 hours before the start of class.
No. You only need to book one spot. Every spot has its own rower and bench with dumbbells, kettlebells, and more so that no equipment is shared during your workout. Your trainer will guide you through the workout and you will switch on and off the rower 3 times.
That is up to you. Science has shown starting with weights does burn more calories but no matter where you start you will receive the same work out!
If you book a class under your membership and don’t show up, we charge you a no-show fee — which ranges in price depending on which city your membership is in. If you have a class package, unfortunately, you lose your class.
We ask that Returning Clients arrive and check in AT LEAST 5 minutes prior to the start of class. At the exact start time of class, your spot may be released to someone on the waitlist or a walk-in if you have not arrived. If you know you are running late, please give us a call. Please note the absolute latest we let anyone enter class is five minutes after the official start of class, even if you have already checked in.
If the class you want is sold out, you can get on our wait list. As people cancel, you will be automatically added in the order you had signed up.If you secure a spot more than 12 hours before the scheduled start time of the class, we will notify you by email. If a spot doesn’t open by then, you still have a chance of getting in. Just show up at least 5 minutes before class starts and once we have our no-show count we’ll start going through the wait list in order.

No. As apart of our initiative to reduce one-time use plastics we DO NOT sell one time use bottled water. We do have a state of the art Bluedrop Water water tap and sell our Row Republic reusable water bottles for $5.
We require new clients to attend “First Timers Orientation” which occurs 15 minutes prior to the start of each class. If you do not attend learn to row we will unfortunately not let you participate in class. Form is really important to fulling enjoying and benefiting from the workout. You only need to arrive this early once!
Yes! 4 Private shower rooms with spa-style rain shower heads Our showers rooms are equipped with Drybar bath products & amenities. There are towels, hairdryers, straighteners, and other beauty products available.
We do sell reusable water bottles starting at $5. We do not sell plastic water bottles at our studio.
Yes. Our lockers use a combination code, so no need to bring a lock with you.
Yes. We have both hand towels for your workout and full towels for the shower area. We also hit you up with a cold towel after your class. Don’t worry we have you covered!
No, we recommend rowing without them to build grip strength. If you do have sensitive hands we do sell rowing gloves at our studio.
